Rector Dalgar attended the academic board meetings of the spring semester

At the meeting, the Director of the Turkish Music State Conservatory Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynel Turan and the Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar provided information about academic staff, student numbers, departments, programs, and projects carried out by making presentations related to their faculties. The views and requests of the academic staff were also discussed at the meeting.

 

Rector Dalgar: "We are taking strategic steps towards the future"

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, in his speech, mentioned the university's future strategies and stated that they have been continuing their work in line with the Policy Document they have established since they took office. Dalgar expressed that they are trying to make the education-teaching, research, and management processes more effective by focusing on practical education and digital technologies, and he also referred to the İstikbal Campus project planned to be built instead of the prison.

 

In his speech, Rector Dalgar emphasized that academic board meetings should be seen as a platform where not only administrators provide information but also academic staff present their views and suggestions. “I am here today to listen to you and gather your ideas. We want to advance our university with your contributions” he stated.

 

A new education model with İstikbal Campus

Rector Dalgar said they have received the title deed of the prison land belonging to the Ministry of Justice. Stating that the İstikbal Campus project to be implemented in this area will be a unique model in Turkey, Dalgar mentioned that this project will also serve as a practice school for the Faculty of Education.

 

Rector Dalgar; “This campus will provide our students with practical education opportunities. This school, which will operate under the guidance of the Faculty of Education academics, will enable students to gain field experience starting from their first year. At the same time, a Science Center and National Technology Workshops will also be established here. With this project, we aim to transform our university into a structure that centers practical education, moving beyond theoretical knowledge” he said.

 

Accreditation and future plans

Rector Dalgar emphasized that the accreditation processes of the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine have been successfully completed and that they meet the criteria of the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TYÇ). Stating that they aim to be a pioneer in the accreditation process for other faculties of the university, Dalgar pointed out the warnings made by YÖK, indicating that unaccredited departments may face difficulties in finding students in the future.

 

The meeting ended with the answers to the questions of the academic staff and the evaluation of their suggestions. The MAKÜ administration stated that they will continue to implement projects aimed at the development of the university with the contributions of the academic staff.

 

Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, and Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan also participated in the meeting.
